Light, space and architecture
There is little doubt that our perception of space, of light and shadow, depends on the culture we were raised in and the society that formed us. However, as the Turkish-French architect Ahmet Gülgönen explains, the opposite is also true: light and shadow define how we perceive, appropriate and inhabit space. “For me,” he continues, “space and light are synonyms.”
