International VELUX Award for Students of Architecture

The International VELUX Award encourages projects that go to the edge and demonstrate experimental thinking on daylight and its role in architecture.

The award takes place every second year and is open to students worldwide.

The 2006 award theme is "Light of Tomorrow".

The Daylightsite

VELUX support research concerning the impact of daylight and windows on the visual environment and our well-being.

With the site VELUX are aiming at creating a forum where relevant material, tools and information on daylight can be accessed and shared - with specific focus on daylight quality - and the promotion of daylight-aware building design.

VELUX has devised a strategy to take an active part in developing sustainable buildings.

Daylight Visualizer

A tool for daylighting design and analysis. It is intended to promote the use of daylight in buildings and to aid professionals by predicting and documenting daylight levels and appearance of a space prior to realisation of the building design.
