To move daylighting design into the 21st century, a common and specific language is required. It should facilitate exchange and debate between all parties involved in the building industry, along with clearly defined descriptors of the factors responsible for achieving high quality daylighting applications.
Awareness of and easy access to detailed information on successful examples of daylighting design applications are other critical steps in this process. That is the consent reached by daylighting experts – researchers, educators, architects, lighting designers and users of daylit buildings – at a symposium in Budapest.
